This is a manager level position for the Canadian branch of Capital One responsible for execution of day-to-day processes in a manner that ensures compliance with Canadian legislation and corporate practices.

. Facilitate and provide guidance on Compliance Risk to the Canadian Line of Business
. Provide the business support/advice on the development and maintenance of the Business Areas' Compliance Program (what to monitor, report, train on, etc.)
. Support and/or Perform Risk Assessments on State of Business Area Compliance
. Promote a culture of compliance
. Assist with initiation of projects as a result of recommendations by regulatory agencies
. Develop, capture, maintain and analyze the Canadian Business Compliance data and interpret to ensure consistency and adequate Compliance Risk Management
. Manage external regulatory relationships, as required
. Participate in Legislative Compliance Management (LCM) program for all applicable laws for Canadian credit card business
. Investigate and respond to all Canadian regulatory complaints, including coordination of multiple business units
. Develop processes to manage follow-up with all regulatory issues by business units, document progress and report to senior management
. Keep abreast of banking industry through the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA) specialist meetings such as for the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC)
. Manage communications with business units
Experience:
Required:
. University degree
. Minimum 3 years experience with compliance for credit cards or similar retail financial products at a financial institution
. Solid relationship management skills
. Strong written and oral communication skills
. Demonstrated analytical skills
. Ability to collaborate across areas of the company
Preferred:
. Proficiency with computer applications, WORD, Acrobat and Excel
. Background in Risk management
. Experience with Legislative Compliance Management programs
. Experience with Privacy Compliance programs
. Experience with Anti Money Laundering Compliance programs
. Experience with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada
