Description:
The Lead Engineer, QA develops and implements quality assurance policies and procedures with respect to technology within JetBlue. The Engineer ensures that all Information Technology (IT) products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
Essential Functions:

-Develops, designs and executes Test Plans, Test Cases, Load Test Plans and Test Reports
-Participates in Development Lifecycle and Quality Assurance methodology
-Assists in formulating and establishing quality assurance policies and procedures
-Provides work and timeframe estimates required to perform quality assurance testing within product release cycle guidelines for software enhancements
-Ensures quality, efficiency and consistency in the execution and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures
-Conducts adequate product testing prior to implementation
-Develops report statistics on problems and issues
-Supervise a team of QA engineer on large projects
-Work with Project Managers to develop a Quality Plan and follow it through execution.

-Normal office environment
-Present for core hours but additional hours required for late releases approximately once per week

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
-BachelorÁ’s Degree preferred but not required
-Three (3) to five (5) years experience in Quality Assurance (ideally business-to-business)
-Experience with Mercury application software (WinRunner, QTP, and Test Director)
-Microsoft and Mercury Certification preferred but not required
-Experience testing internal tools and websites preferred but not required
-Experience with effectively writing, operating and maintaining automation test scripts
-Regular attendance and punctuality
-Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
-Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
-Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
-Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
-When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
-Experience supervising a team of QA Engineers or Analysts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
QA Engineer Á– Specific Competencies
-Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle, Quality Assurance methodology and Quality Assurance reviews of requirements and specifications
Strong knowledge of Mercury application software (WinRunner, LoadRunner and Test Director)
-Experience with operating and maintaining automated testing using Mercury application software
-Knowledge of SQL
-Knowledge of Source Control Software (Visual Source Safe)
-Design and execute Test Plans, Test Cases, Load Test Plans and Test Reports
-Knowledge of Functional, System, Integration, Unit and Regression testing processes
-Web testing experience on both Windows and Mac platforms
-Ability to create clear, concise defect submissions
-Possess strong orientation for both the quality and test aspects of automation
-Knowledge of Software Project Lifecycle.

Engineer Level Á– Core Competencies
-Knowledge of software project lifecycle.
-Experienced in test automation methologies.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
