Position Summary:

The Customer Service Ground Operations Crew tags, loads and unloads Customer luggage, operates ground service equipment which includes operation of motor vehicles, coordinates the service and surface movement of arriving and departing aircraft, helps prepare aircraft cabin for departure, assists with fleet service duties including the operation of aircraft fueling and waste disposal equipment, assists Customers with special needs, and complies with any ad-hoc requests as needed. Individuals must be comfortable serving Customers and proficient in using computers. Flexibility of schedule is necessary as the position requires working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Maintaining a positive, good-natured attitude is essential.

Essential Functions:

- Operates ground service equipment which includes motor vehicles and elevated de-icing equipment
- Responsible for aircraft servicing which may include operation of aircraft fueling and waste disposal equipment
- Tags, loads, and unloads Customer luggage (in excess of one hundred (100) pounds)
- Operates external aircraft servicing equipment
- Helps prepare aircraft cabin for departure, which can include light cleaning of seats, seat-pockets, and floor
- Assists Customers with special needs, e.g. Customers who need assistance in boarding
- Assists with guidance of aircraft during surface movement to arrival and departure locations
- Occasionally assists with loading and unloading mail
- Complies with ad hoc assignments as requested by the Supervisor or General Manager

Supervision Received:

- Receives clear, detailed, and specific instructions and consults with Crewleader on all matters outside the scope of daily responsibilities/activities

Supervisory Duties:

- No supervisory responsibility

- Computer literate
- Able to follow safety guidelines
- Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
- Able to work under all types of weather conditions

Working Conditions:

Equipment

- Computer and other office equipment
- Ground service equipment
- Handheld radios

Work Environment:

- Airport Ramp environment; the outdoor environment may present weather variations and elevated noise levels
- Ability to work weekends or irregular shifts
- Able to make occasional trips to other locations for training or temporary assignment

Physical Effort:

- Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 75 pounds frequently. (Very Heavy)

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year customer service or sales experience preferred but not required
- Previous airline experience preferred but not required
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue AirwaysÁ’ insurance standards
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required
- Able to travel and/or work variable hours
- Able to work flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends
- At least eighteen (18) years old
- Able to lift seventy-five (75) to one hundred (100) pounds
- Regular attendance and punctuality

- Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
