Position Summary:

The Analyst supports the daily management, administration, security and operation of the Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program. In addition, the Analyst supports aircraft data downloading and analysis, computers systems management, and conducts analytical projects assigned by Flight Safety leadership.

Essential Functions:

Conducts FOQA analysis and reporting; studies and analyzes the data to provide objective reports for the program stakeholders (55%)

Gains proficiency in operating the FOQA analysis system including Business Object queries, elementary event programming, and statistical package utilization

Collects and downloads data to the FOQA server (10%)

Transfers data from aircraft to the FOQA server so that future validation and analysis may be accomplished

Responsible for the daily and weekly tracking of external media, aircraft recording conditions, and aircraft parameter quality to maintain an uninterrupted flow of data from all aircraft (10%)
Provides Technical Operations and Avionics Engineers with information on the reordering conditions of each
aircraft to maintain a fully functioning fleet

Supports the Sr. FOQA Analyst with daily administration of the FOQA Program; performs administrative functions as assigned to maintain program efficiency (20%)

Creates and maintains professional relationships with other airlinesÁ’ FOQA Program personnel (5%)

Administers aircraft data download and conducts flight data reviews in support of safety investigations (5%)


Interactions:

Supervision Received:

Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments from Crewleader. Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from Crewleader for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments

Supervisory Duties:

No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function

- Ability to draft written analyses, present reports in lecture style formats, and explain technical subjects to audiences of varying skills and backgrounds
- A minimum of familiarity with basic Markup Languages (HTML/SGML) and understanding of programming and logic
- Understanding of SQL Standard and the basic hierarchy of a database driven reporting system
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, and database software
- Ability to effectively see projects and analyses through to their proper conclusions
- Ability to work under stress in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills required to liaise with other departments, outside agencies, and other airlines
- Formal aviation safety training or equivalent preferred
- Training in aviation safety investigations, Human Factors, and Root Cause Analysis desired
- Excellent typing skills

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

* Experience in Quality Engineering, Data Analysis, Research Methodology as it pertains to data manipulation and control in a data oriented environment.

* BachelorÁ’s degree or equivalent coursework/experience (Associates plus three years, No degree plus five years).

* Private Pilot Certificate with Instrument Experience, or Flight Engineer Certificate, or comparable military experience

* Previous work experience or coursework in data analysis, Quality Engineering, Quality Control. Basic understanding of Quality Concepts and process control

* Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion

* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
