Position Summary:
The Specialist maintains the warehouse and stores stock in all Materiel Operations areas. This position reports to the Materiel Operations Supervisor within respective BlueCity to ensure adequate supply of materiel is maintained for maintenance. Additional duties include receiving, binning, and shipping. The Lead Specialist relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish daily tasks. The Lead Specialist also delegates, leads and guides the daily work of other Crewmembers within the operation.

Essential Functions:
-Leads, guides and approves the work of others within the group; reviews the work of others and assigns daily tasks to the group of Materiel Specialists within their respective BlueCity
-Occasionally acts as the Supervisor when Supervisor is off duty, on Paid Time Off (PTO), or away from the BlueCity
-Trains and assigns work to Crewmembers within their BlueCity; trains Crewmembers one-on-one and reviews all daily functions and activities
-May visit other Blue Cities and provide training and support as needed
-Maintains inventory accuracy and Dangerous Goods documentation
-Purchases items, conducts inventory, create monthly reports, and maintains Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and Travel Certificates Standards
-Conduct briefings with Crewmembers
-Schedule Crewmembers as the operation requires

Supervision Received:
-Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments from Crewleader. Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from Crewleader for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments
Supervisory Duties:
-Trains and assigns work to Crewmembers on an occasional basis; performs the same work as the group on a regular basis
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
-Knowledge of inventory management and computer inventory management systems/bar coding
-Ability to ship/receive and track parts using DHL/FEDEX shipping software
-Strong typing skills
-Adaptable to change
-Excellent verbal (telephone) communication skills
-Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
-Ability to lead and guide Crewmembers
-Ability to think creatively
Working Conditions:
Equipment:
-Computer and other office equipment
-Inventory Control System, i.e. DASH, etc.
-All types of Ground Support Equipment: trucks, tugs, box truck, forklifts, (all types up to 35 (thirty five) K)
-Packing machine equipment
-Small and large weighing scales
-Parts storage system equipment
-Other equipment when needed in support of logistics and aircraft support
Work Environment:
-Work may be outdoors with seasonal weather
-Able to work all shifts (i.e.: midnight, days, weekends, and holidays)
-Travel may be required
Physical Effort:
-Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Heavy)

Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
-Prior Materiel Specialist/Warehousing experience
-Six (6) months leadership experience preferred but not required
-Background in purchasing preferred but not required
-Not currently on a progressive guidance
-Successfully pass the Materiels and the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training courses
-Pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) or Department of Transportation (DOT) approved Hazardous Materiel Training Course and maintain recurrent training of the course
-Able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
-Able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
-Valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
-Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets JetBlue AirwaysÁ’ insurance standards
-Pass and maintain rating and be able to drive forklifts (4 (four) K to 18 (eighteen) K) tugs, trucks, and other vehicles
-Regular attendance and punctuality
-Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
-Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
-Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
-Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
-When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
