Position Summary:

The Auditor is responsible for performing internal or external audits as required by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 121.373. They perform reviews and audits of our external business partnersÁ’ facilities as well as their policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

For Internal Auditors:

* Plans, schedules and conducts internal audits
o Line Station Ramp Audits
o Departmental Audits/Investigations
* Performs investigations of internal incidents and events on behalf of the JetBlue Chief Inspector
* Generates and maintains records of all audits and reports in accordance with General Maintenance Manual (GMM) policies/procedures
* As part of our JetBlue Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS), performs analysis of audit finding for trends within Technical Operations and JetBlue Station Operations
* Performs evaluations of audit responses and provides compliance recommendations as required
* Provides technical and compliance/regulatory assistance to other departments in support of day-to-day operation
* Other projects and duties assigned by Manager, Quality Assurance

For External Auditors:

* Plans, schedules, and conducts internal and external audits
o Line Station Audits
o Fuel Farm Audits
o Fuel Into-Plane Audits
o De-Icing Audits
o Substantial Maintenance (Operations Spec D91) Audits
o Repair Station Audits
* Performs investigations of incidents and events which involve our external business partners or the products, goods and services for which they provide JetBlue
* Maintains records of all audits in accordance with General Maintenance Manual (GMM) policies/procedures
* As part of our JetBlue Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS), performs analysis of audit findings or reliability reports for trends that involve the services or JetBlueÁ’s business partners
* Performs evaluation of audit responses and provides compliance recommendations as required
* Provides technical and compliance/regulatory assistance to other departments in support of day-to-day operation
* Other projects and duties as assigned by the Manager, Quality Assurance

Work Environment:

* Both office and outdoor environment
* For Internal Auditors: Travel required up to 25% to 30%
* For External Auditors: Travel required up to 50% to 60%

Physical Effort:

* Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. (Medium)

Experience:
* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
* Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe or Powerplant Certificate
* Three (3) to five (5) years of commercial aircraft Maintenance, Quality Control, Quality Assurance or equivalent Military experience
* Four (4) years experience in a 14 CFR Part 121 Air Carrier Quality or Maintenance environment (military experience can be used in lieu of 121
experience)
* Previous auditing experience in the 121 Air Carrier or Military Department of Defense (DOD) auditing environment preferred
* Thorough working knowledge of FARs
* Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
